Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya Highlights UP Food Processing Potential To Boost Jobs & Farmer Income

Greater Noida, September 28 - Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya highlighted Uttar Pradesh's enormous potential in food processing, aiming to create jobs and boost farmers' income. The state's strong agricultural production, including vegetables, fruits, and other produce, provides ample opportunity for processing, packaging, and branding.

By strengthening food processing at village and district levels, government efforts seek to reduce food wastage and ensure better prices for farmers. Maurya emphasized opportunities in packaging, branding, marketing, transportation, and exports, encouraging young people, women entrepreneurs, and self-help groups to participate. Quality compliance with international standards is crucial for global market reach, along with modern packaging and branding.

The government offers support and guidance to entrepreneurs through policies and schemes, with officials at the district level assisting potential entrepreneurs in connecting with these opportunities. Cheques were distributed to selected beneficiaries, and dignitaries from the Uttar Pradesh Government, including Minister of State Narendra Kumar Kashyap, attended the event.

Additional Chief Secretary B.L. Meena emphasized the state's focus on developing food processing hubs, modern technology, cold chain systems, and exports, urging entrepreneurs to leverage government schemes and connect local products with national and international markets.
