Daughter allegedly fatally stabs 70-year-old mother in Manjung

A 70-year-old woman from Kampar passed away after being stabbed in the chest by her daughter, according to police. The incident occurred at their home in Taman Golden, Manjung, Perak. Police confirmed that the daughter, aged 49, has been arrested and seized a knife linked to the incident. Initial investigations revealed that only the victim and suspect were present at the home when the tragic event transpired, while the victim's son-in-law filed the police report.

Forensic experts have been tasked with examining the seized knife, and a hospital report is awaited to aid the investigation. Police also obtained a seven-day remand order for the suspect, believed to have a history of mental illness, until October 4 to support the ongoing investigation. The victim had recently returned home after residing in a nursing facility and was being cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, who assist her with daily activities due to her limited mobility. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
