Cristina Librán crowned U20 World Champion with Spain!

Cristina Librán has been named the U20 World Champion alongside the Spanish national team. The midfielder, who leads her country as captain, secured the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title after a thrilling final in Łódź, Poland. Spain triumphed over North Korea on penalties, returning to the summit of the world rankings in the age category for the first time since their 2022 victory.

Librán's journey to the top began four years earlier when she led Spain to their last U-20 World Cup triumph. Born in 2006, she not only captained the national team to the championship but also scored the winning goal against France in the final, showcasing her talent at just 19 years old. Her individual brilliance was recognized once more during the Polish tournament, as she was honored as the Player of the Match in Spain's quarter-final victory against Brazil.

This performance helped secure Spain's position in the semi-finals, where they prevailed against Italy with a score of 2-0.

Having transferred from Madrid CFF to Juventus in the summer of 2025, Librán has added another significant accolade to her already impressive international career.
