Court injunction clears the way for Tamin Lipsey to rejoin Iowa State basketball

In a recent decision, an injunction has allowed Tamin Lipsey to rejoin the Iowa State basketball team for another year of eligibility. The 6-foot-1 guard, a standout player from the Big 12, is set to return to the program after being granted the injunction last week.

Lipsey's return was announced by Iowa State on Monday, with a social media post featuring his No. 3 jersey hanging in his locker. The former NBA Summer League participant from the Indiana Pacers went undrafted in the 2026 NBA draft but had an impressive collegiate career at Iowa State. He averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game during the previous season while leading the team to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16.

Notably, Lipsey was honored as an Associated Press honorable mention All-American in 2024 and has been recognized as a three-time all-Big 12 selection. He holds the Big 12 record for the most combined points, assists, rebounds, and steals in a career, amassing over 1,500 points, 600 assists, 500 rebounds, and 300 steals.
