Construction work to begin on Ogun Deep Sea Port in November — Abiodun

Ogun State's Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has described the police profession as extremely challenging, highlighting the anxiety, stress, and demanding responsibilities that come with the job. The CP made these remarks during a commendation and awards ceremony held at the Police Officers' Mess in Abeokuta, where he recognized 34 serving officers and five retired personnel for their outstanding service.

Ojajuni emphasized that serving as a police officer requires dedication and resilience, acknowledging that maintaining a long-term career in the force is no simple task. He noted that remaining in the profession for decades is a remarkable achievement. The ceremony aimed to appreciate officers who had served the country well and to encourage current personnel to remain committed to their duties.

The Inspector-General of Police had previously honored some of these officers in Abuja, but the Ogun Command decided to replicate the gesture locally, ensuring that those unable to attend the previous event also received recognition. Five retired officers, including former Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Commander, CSP Salami Murphy, were honored.

Among the serving officers recognized were the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SP Shittu Bamidele; SP Gbenga Ademola; SP Balogun Sherrif; ASP Olupona Helen; and ASP Jimoh Lasisi. Ojajuni particularly praised CSP Salami for his hard work and dedication, as well as SP Bamidele for his contributions to maintaining peace in the state.

Murphy, speaking on behalf of the retirees, expressed his gratitude to the command for recognizing their achievements, assuring that they remain willing to contribute to the police and society whenever needed.
