Colombia Nominated as World’s Most Desirable Country to Visit

Colombia has been shortlisted for the title of World's Most Desirable Country to Visit at the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards. The awards ceremony is set to take place on November 4 in London during the World Travel Market. Collected through a public vote among Wanderlust magazine's readers, the winner will be announced on November 4, 2026.

Over 250,000 people are expected to participate in this year's voting. Colombia is competing against destinations from around the globe, including Argentina, Belize, China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Egypt, Nepal, Oman, and the Philippines. This marks Colombia's second nomination in this category, following a previous inclusion in 2022. The magazine emphasizes Colombia's appeal through its nature, culture, and regional travel experiences.

Other recent recognitions for Colombia include its inclusion by Lonely Planet among destinations to visit in 2026, as well as features by Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveller, National Geographic, and Culture Trip. In 2026, Colombia has received a total of 52 nominations at the World Travel Awards for South America, with notable locations such as Las Lajas Sanctuary, Tayrona National Natural Park, and major cities like Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Barranquilla, and Cali.
