In Beijing, the United States and China have unveiled details of a plan to reduce tariffs on imports worth about $30 billion each. The two rival superpowers aim to stabilize their relations following a summit between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The list of goods to be imported into the US includes 77 items such as fireworks, household goods, sports equipment, and toys.

Similarly, the Chinese government has listed 1,619 items for potential export, including meat, seafood, dairy products, grains, coal, wood, and medical equipment. The anticipated tariff relief for bilateral trade worth $60 billion is part of the outcomes of Xi's recent visit to Washington, though it represents only a fraction of the total trade between the world's two largest economies, which reached $415 billion last year.

Both sides extended their trade truce until January and are working on a more comprehensive agreement before their next meeting, which is expected to occur multiple times this year. However, central issues like export controls and Taiwan remain unresolved, making trade in non-sensitive goods one of the potential areas for further agreement.
