'CEC, PM, Shah conspired to sabotage democracy'

On Monday, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal alleged that there was a criminal conspiracy between Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah to undermine democracy in India. Venugopal contended that the Election Commission (EC) is meant to conduct free and fair elections, but has been transformed into a BJP party committee by CEC Gyanesh Kumar.

He questioned who benefited from these illegal acts and accused the trio of orchestrating the conspiracy for their own gain. Venugopal claimed that the allegations were dismissed by Rahul Gandhi, who had highlighted the number of voters removed from electoral rolls, but the CEC, PM, and Shah have remained silent on the matter. The EC officials stated that the body unanimously approved decisions regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Venugopal announced that the Congress will convene a working committee meeting on September 29 to decide its next steps regarding CEC Gyanesh Kumar. He also stated that the INDIA bloc parties will gather to decide their further course of action in this fight to protect democracy, inviting all parties, regardless of alliance membership, to join in the cause.
