BeONE Mobile Officially Launches As Maxis-Powered MVNO

In Malaysia, a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) named BeONE Mobile has officially launched. Running on Maxis' network, BeONE Mobile aims to provide affordable prepaid connectivity to Malaysian consumers. The MVNO operates under a multi-level incentive program for its agents, allowing them to earn rewards from customers and other agents within their network.

The service is available immediately to consumers, with SIM cards and subscriptions accessible through BeONE Mobile's sales channels. Powered by Maxis, BeONE Mobile utilizes the telecommunications giant's infrastructure to deliver 4G and 5G connectivity, with network coverage and local conditions influencing actual availability.

Customers can retain their existing mobile numbers through mobile number portability (MNP), enabling a seamless switch to BeONE Mobile without changing their current numbers.

BeONE Mobile's primary monthly plan, priced at RM25, grants users 150GB of high-speed 4G/5G data, usable for hotspot purposes as well. Unlimited domestic calls to all networks are also included. For those seeking a new number, the RM38 plan offers 250GB of data with similar features. Additional short-term options include a daily plan for RM3, providing 3GB of data for 24 hours, and a weekly plan at RM12, which includes 15GB of data for seven days and unlimited calls to all networks.

All plans are contract-free, and the service can theoretically support download speeds of up to 1Gbps when network conditions permit. The company also offers a mobile app for managing services and subscriptions.

In its official launch, BeONE Mobile introduced two programs focused on fostering entrepreneurship and digital access in local communities. The first initiative, the BeONE Entrepreneurship Programme for the E-Hailing Community, targets e-hailing drivers who can simultaneously become BeONE Mobile agents. Participants receive training, digital tools, and BeONE Mobile products and services to promote within their networks.

This program aims to enable participants to explore entrepreneurial opportunities without leaving their primary jobs.
