Ayuso ironiza tras el desahucio de Maricarmen y pide saber “a partir de qué edad” se puede no pagar al casero: “Que me avisen”

Madrid's President Isabel Díaz Ayuso (PP) has labeled some of the housing proposals arising from Maricarmen's eviction as "sectarian" and "deeply ideological", while playfully questioning the age at which tenants could be exempt from paying rent. During the opening of the Madrid Investment Forum on Monday, Ayuso suggested she might attend the next tenant protest, saying, "Let me know at what age I stop paying and, hopefully, join the next tenant protest."

This remark seems to be closely tied to Maricarmen's eviction at the age of 87, which has sparked unprecedented mobilization for housing solutions and to help her maintain her flat. Maricarmen, however, has always paid her rent, according to the owner of the property.
