Ampang Jaya police probe viral TikTok assault and multi-car collision

The Ampang Jaya police are investigating a case involving a viral TikTok video of a car collision and an assault, according to a statement released today. On September 26 at around 7am, a female complainant named Nadia was picked up by the victim, who was driving her home after returning from a hike at Bukit Melati. As the victim dropped Nadia off at her destination, three men approached his car.

One man knocked on the driver's side window and ordered the victim to exit his vehicle. Panicking, the victim accelerated forward, causing damage to several parked vehicles. One of the men then stood on the car's bonnet and was struck by three unidentified individuals in the area. The incident gained widespread attention on social media, including TikTok.

Police are probing the case under two sections of the Penal Code: mischief causing loss or damage (up to five years in jail, fine, or both) and voluntarily causing hurt (up to one year in jail, fine, or both). Khairul Anuar Khalid, Ampang Jaya district police chief, has called upon the public to provide any information that could assist the investigation. He also warned against making assumptions or speculations about the incident.
