ADC demands clarity on Tinubu’s vacation extension

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council has called for clarification from the Nigerian Presidency regarding President Bola Tinubu's continued absence from the country, six days after his three-week vacation was set to conclude. As of September 27, Tinubu had not returned, despite initially departing for London on August 30 and then Paris, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.

During his absence, Vice-President Kashim Shettima handled official duties in Abuja, before departing for New York on September 20 to attend the United Nations General Assembly. Reports indicated that Tinubu's return was delayed until Tuesday. The ADC demanded transparency, questioning who is effectively governing Nigeria while the President is away and requesting clear information on his current whereabouts and the reasons for the extension of his stay abroad.
