6 charged over public assemblies including Phua Chu Kang actors Lim Kay Siu and Neo Swee Lin

Six individuals, including journalists and former actors, were charged on September 28, 2025 for alleged offences involving public assemblies. Annamalai Kokila Parvathi, Ten Leu Jiun Jeanne-Marie, and Rocky Howe were among those charged with participating in a prohibited assembly outside the State Courts, a restricted area. Kirsten Han, Lim Kay Siu, and Neo Swee Lin, all of whom have prior legal issues with public gatherings, were also charged.

Neo and Lim are a married couple who previously acted together in the local sitcom Phua Chu Kang. They have since performed music together, while Lim portrayed the monk Gyatso in the Netflix series Avatar - The Last Airbender. Two individuals who had previously been investigated for similar offenses were among those charged. The police emphasized that offenders could face up to six months in jail, a fine of up to S$10,000, or both for organizing a public assembly in a prohibited area without a permit.
