5 biggest new shows to stream this week —including a 'Yellowstone' spinoff's return

Fall TV season officially kicks off as streaming platforms roll out fresh content this week. Netflix offers a sweeping retelling of John Steinbeck's classic novel "East of Eden," crafted by Zoe Kazan. Florence Pugh stars as Cathy Ames, whose story intertwines with the Trask family, including Adam, Charles, and twins Cal and Aron. The seven-episode adaptation premieres on Thursday, October 1 at 3 a.m. ET on Netflix.

HBO takes on a high-stakes legal drama with "War," a tale of two London law firms vying for control when movie star Carla Duval sues her tech mogul husband. Dominique Miller stars as Carla, opposite Dominic West as Morgan Henderson. The series premieres on Thursday, October 1 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.

Adult Swim adapts Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose's graphic novel "Get Jiro" into a bloody culinary thriller. Chefs rule Los Angeles like crime bosses, with Mysterious sushi chef Jiro arriving to seek vengeance against the city's warring culinary factions. Episodes 1-2 premiere on Saturday, October 3 at 12 a.m. ET on Adult Swim and HBO Max.

CBS brings back its hit series "Marshals" for a second season, starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. After the kidnapping of his son Tate, Kayce goes rogue while his fellow U.S. Marshals uncover a criminal operation tied to the East Camp land grab. The season features the return of "Yellowstone" favorite Jimmy (Jefferson White) and premieres on Sunday, October 4 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
