Zulum receives Pan-African Leadership Award

Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has been honoured with the 2026 Quintessence Pan-African Top Leadership Award. The award recognizes distinguished African leaders and African American leaders for their exceptional contributions. Speaking at the ceremony, Zulum stressed that the recognition was not solely for himself, but for the resilient people of Borno and all Nigerians working towards a better future.

The governor, who hailed from a farming community, emphasized that leadership should open doors for others, particularly by providing opportunities for children. Under his leadership, Borno has reconstructed over 30,000 homes, schools, clinics, and other public facilities since 2019. Zulum urged Nigerians and African diaspora to invest their skills, ideas, and money in businesses, education, and healthcare back home, describing Africa's greatest asset as its young people.

He called for greater investment in education, health, and creativity to unlock the potential of Africa's young people.
