Uttar Pradesh: 'State Is On Track To Become India’s Leading AI, Semiconductor And Tech Hub,' Says Union Minister Jitin Prasada

Uttar Pradesh is on the verge of becoming India's primary hub for artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electronics, and technology, according to Union Minister Jitin Prasada. The state is rapidly transforming from an electronics manufacturing center to a leading state in AI, semiconductors, and technology. Prasada stated that Uttar Pradesh is set to be prominently discussed in global investment discussions, with the government working to develop a robust ecosystem for technology, innovation, and manufacturing.

The transformation is being driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national vision, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, highlighting the importance of coordination between the central and state governments. The initiative is not limited to Noida but aims to create opportunities across Uttar Pradesh, benefiting the state's youth.

Major investments, such as those from Samsung and Yotta, along with data centers, AI labs, and other technology infrastructure, indicate the emergence of a new ecosystem. Semiconductors and electronic products are expected to be manufactured in Uttar Pradesh, taking them to both domestic and global markets. The government aims to complement the state's design capabilities and talent with manufacturing skills, focusing on component manufacturing through initiatives like the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme.

Jitin Prasada emphasized the importance of a secure and stable policy environment for investors, with the government providing land, policies, approvals, and facilities, while industries must become competitive and self-sustaining. AI is being leveraged not just for adopting technology but for boosting productivity, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.

The Minister urged the preparation of youth as AI innovators, researchers, and adopters, stressing stronger collaboration between research institutions like IIT Kanpur and industry. Beyond Noida, efforts are being made to attract more Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Lucknow and Kanpur, with several IT and technology companies already present in Lucknow.
