UNL: Ronaldo may no longer start every Portugal match – Jesus

Portugal's head coach Jorge Jesus has indicated that Cristiano Ronaldo might not start in every match for the national team. The forward's physical state will play a significant role in determining whether he takes the field against Norway, according to Jesus. The coach and Ronaldo have come to an agreement regarding the player's playing time.

Speaking to Ojogo, Jesus explained, "I've already discussed this with him. He played 65 minutes, and I'll assess his condition to decide if he starts or substitutes on, because irrespective of our wishes, Cris isn't Joao Neves, a 20-year-old capable of playing back-to-back matches every three days. We must take into account all aspects, but his performance during training sessions will provide crucial insights."

Ronaldo made his debut for Portugal in their 1-0 win over Wales during the UEFA Nations League A's opening round. However, his performance was lackluster, and his goal was disallowed for offside. Subsequently, Jesus substituted Ronaldo with Goncalo Ramos in the 67th minute, a move he later explained in a post-match interview. Ronaldo is keen to demonstrate his abilities in Portugal's upcoming match against Norway, which is set to occur at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on Sunday, September 27.
