Thane Cop Killing: He had two years left in service. Then came the fatal night patrol

Kisan Kamlakar Bhoir, a 56-year-old police sub-inspector, was on duty for the Ganpati festival near Pokhran Road No. 2 in Thane. He had two years left in his service before retirement in 2028. On September 24, at around 11 pm, Bhoir was involved in a scuffle with Raju Premkumar Valmiki, a 30-year-old man who had been detained by his team.

The confrontation escalated when Valmiki allegedly pushed Bhoir, causing him to fall onto the road. Valmiki then allegedly struck Bhoir on the head with a cement brick. Bhoir died minutes later at Titan Hospital in Manpada due to a severe head injury and internal bleeding.
