Amthor was already considered a political talent and a figure of interest before his move to the Chancellor's office. At just 24 years old, he first entered the Bundestag in 2017, and was digital State Secretary until recently, before becoming Minister for State Relations between the Federal and Länder in the Chancellor's office just a couple of months ago.

The scene in the Chancellor's office sparked various reactions on social media, with some users initially mistaking it for satire or AI-generated content, according to "Bild." Others accused Amthor of being self-indulgent, describing it as "late-stage decadence." Some users took the scene in good humor, with one user commenting on an Instagram post: "Oh, somehow that's funny with the beach chair.

I wish him the beach chair." Regardless of the reaction, the scene was polarizing, with a single Instagram post from "ZDF heute" about Amthor at "Inside CDU" receiving over 1,600 comments by Sunday evening.
