Chairman of the Policy Division, Kwon Chil-sung, stated that the appointment of the new Prosecutor General was imminent, but no formal request for his appointment had been submitted to the legislature yet.

The recent controversy has also led to criticism of the appointment of the current Chief Justice, Juyeong-Joo, who declined to appoint Juyeong-Joo. The Secretary of the Democratic Party strongly criticized this move, stating that it lacked the demeanor of a Chief Justice.
