Scotland & Northern Ireland secure World Cup spots

Scotland and Northern Ireland have secured their spots in the upcoming Netball World Cup, after a three-day tournament held in East Kilbride. The top two teams from the four-team competition won their places in the finals, which will be hosted in Sydney, Australia. Wales and the Republic of Ireland did not make the cut for the finals.

Northern Ireland's dominant performance in the opening match on Sunday, with a 73-50 victory, ensured their qualification if Scotland managed to secure a win or a draw. Wales' only chance of qualifying was to defeat Scotland. As the final match took place between Scotland and Wales, the hosts' participation in the finals was guaranteed unless Wales won by a significant margin and Scotland won by 55-48 points.

The Netball World Cup is scheduled to take place from August 25 to September 5, 2027.
