Saudi traffic authority warns drivers over unclear or damaged license plates

Saudi traffic authorities have issued a warning to drivers, cautioning them against using license plates that are unclear or damaged. Violators may face fines ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 riyals. The Saudi General Directorate of Traffic emphasized the importance of clear and legible license plates, advising motorists to replace any damaged plates to avoid penalties.

The authority stressed the need for cautious driving on all roads, urging drivers to adhere to speed limits, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and yield the right of way when necessary. Additional reminders included using turn signals when changing directions or lanes, staying focused and attentive, avoiding distractions, and utilizing hazard lights for sudden changes on the road.

These advisories are part of the General Directorate of Traffic's ongoing efforts to promote public safety on Saudi roads. The directorate previously noted that overtaking vehicles using the road shoulder or designated turning lanes is also considered a traffic violation.
