Over the years, I earned various AWS certifications and decided to obtain them all this year, accompanied by an unusual jacket. In this article, I will share my personal insights on each certification, what to expect from the exam, and which ones were the most challenging.
Beginner Certifications
Cloud Practitioner: This foundational certification introduces AWS services, cloud concepts, security, pricing, and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model. Although prior experience is not mandatory, it is recommended to adequately prepare due to the nerves associated with taking on a new challenge.
AI Practitioner: Another entry-level certification, this one focuses on AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI concepts within AWS. Candidates should understand general AI concepts, like LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, model evaluation, and AI security and governance. For those who have already earned the Cloud Practitioner certification, basic AWS services knowledge is sufficient, but additional study is required for AI-specific services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, and Amazon Q.
