Receiver Mike Evans is ruled out for the 49ers with a rib injury

On Sunday, San Francisco 49ers receiver Mike Evans suffered a rib injury and left the game against the Arizona Cardinals in the first half. He wasn't able to return for the rest of the match. Evans was struck by Budda Baker on an incomplete pass in the second quarter, which left him slow to his feet. He visited the injury tent briefly before being removed on a cart.

The 49ers also lost Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams in the second half due to a stinger, with his return listed as questionable. Additionally, the team lost receiver Ricky Pearsall due to season-ending knee surgery, rookie De’Zhaun Stibling will miss about two months after ankle surgery, and cornerback Demarcus Robinson went on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain.

Evans had previously left last week's win against Miami with a hip injury and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before returning on a limited basis on Friday. He performed well early against the Cardinals, catching a short pass that led to an 82-yard touchdown for Deebo Samuel. He then scored his second touchdown of the game on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy.

The 33-year-old Evans has 12 catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with the 49ers and is a six-time Pro Bowler.
