Ogogo’s daughters rally behind Yayi in Ogun governorship race

The daughters of late actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, have pledged their backing for Ogun State's Governor Solomon Adeola Yayi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a Saturday community cleanup in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, sisters Lima and Kira Ogogo publicly expressed their support for Yayi.

The event, organized by the Gen Z for Yayi support group, featured participants in branded T-shirts and promoted on social media. Lima stated that their initiative aimed to shift focus from complaints about government to encouraging young people to contribute positively to their communities. Kira added that they were present to demonstrate support for Yayi and contribute to the cleanliness of their community.

The sisters' support comes as Yayi had previously mentioned that if elected governor in 2027, he planned to appoint Ogogo as his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture, a position he held for his father, the late Ogogo, who was a prominent figure in Yoruba cinema.
