Njeri Maina: I have never trusted Malala

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina has expressed her lack of trust in Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala. In a recent podcast interview, Maina stated that she has never trusted Malala and never will. Maina alleged that Malala has consistently shown a lack of integrity during their time together in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

She recalled an incident where Malala, then the party's secretary general, was asked to intervene when a group of Kirinyaga MCAs had their committee positions removed. Maina claimed that Malala made decisions that contradicted the facts presented to him, removing the MCAs from their positions despite their legitimacy. This act, she said, left a lasting impression on her and is one of the reasons for her ongoing distrust of Malala.

Maina went on to say that her concerns about Malala are not recent, but rather stem from their time in UDA. She described Malala as someone who can plot against you even while at the same table, making you believe you're on the same path. The two had a recent public fallout that was captured on social media, but Maina believes their issues go back much further in their political careers.
