Negeri Sembilan police say hostel tragedy linked to Form Four student ‘punishing’ junior for breaking rules

PETALING JAYA, Sept 27 — The police in Negeri Sembilan have concluded that the death of a Form Two student at a school in Kuala Pilah was likely a result of the victim's alleged violation of school regulations. According to Astro Awani, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad announced that the suspect, a Form Four student, has been detained for six days since Saturday to aid the ongoing investigation, following a filing at the Seremban Magistrates’ Court.

Datuk Alzafny stated that the suspect is the only individual currently held in custody for the probe. It was initially reported that the student was discovered unconscious at the school hostel on Friday night and was transported to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah, where he was declared dead. The Education Ministry has also mandated an urgent audit of the school in light of the tragedy and affirmed its commitment to cooperating completely with the police.
