MC Oluomo, others mourn as ‘Mushin strongman Baba Alado’ dies

Chief Taoreed Faronbi, popularly known as "Baba Alado," passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of influence in Lagos State. Born in 1943, Faronbi served as the Olori Ebi (Head) of the Alagbeji Royal Family in Papa Ajao until his death, and held significant titles such as Akinrogun of Isolo Kingdom and Babaloja of Aswani International Market.

A veteran in Lagos' political, real estate, and transport sectors for decades, Faronbi was a prominent figure in the National Union of Road Transport Workers, where he was respected as a leader.

Faronbi's funeral, attended by family members, friends, residents, and influential political and community figures, witnessed a somber acknowledgment of his contributions. The National President of the NURTW, MC Oluomo, expressed grief over Faronbi's loss, praising his impact and enduring presence in the transport and community space.

Beyond politics and transport, Faronbi was revered by leading Fuji and juju musicians and involved in land development and real estate, though his ventures occasionally led to legal and communal disputes.

The news of Faronbi's death has sparked tributes from a wide range of individuals, including political associates, transport stakeholders, socialites, and Mushin residents.
