Maurice Turner rushes for 200 yards and 2 TDs as Tulane survives Southern Miss 24-21

Maurice Turner delivered a stellar performance, rushing for 200 yards and two touchdowns, including a crucial 74-yard score in the fourth quarter, as Tulane secured a 24-21 victory over Southern Miss on Saturday. The Green Wave overcame a 21-14 deficit after Landry Lyddy's early third-quarter touchdown pass to Mario Sanders. With 8:35 left in the third quarter, Cooper Helmke's 26-yard field goal narrowed the gap to 21-17.

However, TJ Smith's blocked 21-yard field goal attempt by Creighton Wilbanks with 1:45 remaining secured Tulane's narrow win. Turner also scored a 43-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and maintained an average of 16.7 yards per carry on 12 attempts. The Tulane offense was solid, with Kadin Semonza contributing 129 passing yards and a touchdown.
