Kyivstar headquarters damaged in Russian attack on Kyiv

On September 27, the headquarters of Kyivstar, a mobile operator based in Kyiv, was damaged during an attack by Russian forces. The company confirmed the damage to dev.ua and stated that their employees were not injured and are safe. Prior to this attack, Kyivstar had also been targeted on September 11 and September 17 in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, respectively.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that Russian forces struck a data center in Kyiv twice on the morning of September 27. The first attack injured three individuals, including two 16-year-old girls. In addition, a 56-year-old security guard was killed in Kyiv, and a 24-year-old woman and two 16-year-old girls were injured in Shevchenkivskyi district by glass fragments.

The attacks on Kyiv resulted in the destruction of a car service building and over 30 vehicles, as well as damage to a café, a gas station, office buildings, and a school in the Solomyanskyi district. On September 26, a Russian strike had already impacted the data center of Megogo's main partner, which manages television signal transmission, causing temporary unavailability of some TV channels on MEGOGO and SWEET.TV platforms.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously warned that Russia aimed to leave Ukrainians without internet and communication services, and Ukraine had already devised a strategy to counter this threat. On September 26, the Cosmonova data center announced it would cease operations due to damage from Russian strikes.
