Kruk and Kuip: Baseball's legendary Bay Area duo make final call for Giants

San Francisco Giants legends, broadcasting duo Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper, made their final call on Sept. 27 in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, officially ending Krukow's broadcasting career after 37 years together. Krukow, a former MLB starting pitcher, expressed his gratitude for the love and respect he received from fans, personnel, media members, and his fellow broadcaster, Duane Kuiper.

Kuiper, also a former player turned broadcaster, praised Krukow for his teaching abilities and sense of humor, describing their friendship as strong and long-lasting. Both broadcasters will continue their relationship through virtual means, as they will no longer be together in the booth. Krukow's memorable quotes, known as Kruk-isms, brought joy to Giants fans, such as his line about needing a change at a position, which went, "Time for a change, think SpeeDee oil change and tune up."

Krukow's passion for the game, his dedication to the Giants, and the genuine care he had for the players and fans were all applauded by former teammates and fellow broadcasters, such as three-time NL All-Star Chris Speier and Giants former manager Bruce Bochy.
