KATSEYE Perform On SNL Season Premiere, Appear In Dream Academy Parody

Last night marked the 52nd season premiere of SNL, with Jalen Brunson hosting and KATSEYE as the musical guest. The duo performed their songs "Hootie Frutti" and "Animal." During the cold open, Ramy Youssef reprised his role as Zohran Mamdani. The Knicks' starting five—Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart—appeared in Brunson's monologue.

KATSEYE also featured in a pre-taped parody of The Dream Academy. The sketch showcased Jane Wickline and Saidah Belo-Osagie as the quirky characters Margle and Duff, who only joined due to a witnessed hit-and-run involving a music executive. KATSEYE's parody revolved around a hit song about Newton's cradle. Brunson also played rapper Young Rell, who had to decide whether to fire his entourage members.

A pre-taped basketball-themed High School Musical parody and a support group for men whose partners were featured in the Usher and Chris Brown tour were also part of the show. Other sketches included jokes about Macklemore, Ella Langley, and the Usher and Chris Brown tour. The weekend's top music stories and most amusing internet memes rounded out the program.
