Jeddah Airports announces phased opening of Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International

Jeddah Airports Company announced on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the phased opening of Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International Airport. This expansion is part of the airport's ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities and handle increased travel demand. Starting Sunday, three international airlines—Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir—will relocate their flights to Terminal 4, with additional airlines joining gradually according to an operational plan.

The company explained that foreign airlines currently using the North Terminal and some from Terminal 1 and Hajj and Umrah Halls will move to Terminal 4 to redistribute operations, boost capacity, and streamline procedures. The phased transition will continue throughout the week, with more airlines moving in on specific days. Terminal 4 spans 97,000 square meters and can accommodate up to 15 million passengers annually, featuring advanced systems and modern amenities, including a specialized check-in area for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

In 2025, the airport handled its highest volume yet, with 53.4 million passengers. This expansion aligns with Jeddah Airports' broader strategy to enhance the airport's infrastructure and efficiency, supporting its goal to serve over 90 million passengers annually by 2030, as outlined in the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
