Indore Rajwada Horror 2 Killed As Electric City Bus Ploughs Into Bystanders, Auto-Rickshaw

On a Sunday afternoon in Indore's Rajwada area, a devastating road accident occurred when an electric city bus collided with bystanders and an auto-rickshaw near the banyan tree, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. The incident unfolded around 3:30 pm when the driver mistakenly engaged the accelerator instead of the brake.

The victims identified as Ganesh, a 36-year-old auto driver, and Jitendra Sharma, a 40-year-old resident of Rau. Eyewitness Shakuntala reported that the bus, traveling at high speed, first struck a parked auto-rickshaw, crushing its driver, Ganesh, who tragically passed away at the hospital. Two pedestrians crossing the road were also hit and injured in the collision.

CCTV footage captured the chaos, showing the front bumper ejecting two individuals while the rear tires ran over two others before the vehicle lost control and veered towards a puja samagri shop. Following the crash, an enraged mob vandalized the bus, pelting it with stones and bricks, severely damaging the vehicle. The police caught the driver, Dhanraj Gangle, attempting to flee the scene.

Police spokesperson Vijay Singh Sisodiya confirmed that driver negligence was the primary cause of the accident, attributing it to accidental accelerator engagement. The driver is currently in police custody, and a case has been registered based on an FIR filed by Radheshyam Bhati, a resident of Chanakyapuri Colony, Dewas. Strict legal action is expected.

A second IMC city bus caused a momentary scare shortly after the crash when a driver struggled to move the vehicle due to a locked steering wheel. Policemen placed heavy stones in front of the tires to prevent a second tragedy. The Congress party demanded compensation of ₹1 crore for the deceased and ₹50 lakh each for the injured, while the BJP leader's husband was also assaulted in a dispute the same day in Nandbag.
