Harish Rawat slams ‘arrogance of power, electoral anxiety’, day after ED appearance

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Dehradun on Saturday, citing the ruling BJP's "electoral anxieties" ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections in the state. Rawat described the summons as being less about the ED itself and more about the political climate surrounding the elections.

He shared his experience with the ED, mentioning a mix of "some sweetness, some excitement, and also some disappointment" and questioned the use of investigative agencies in a politically charged environment. Rawat accused the BJP of wielding "the arrogance of power and electoral anxieties" to bring him before the agency. He expressed gratitude to the ED and the BJP but emphasized the need to address these anxieties for the nation's well-being.
