Golf tournaments to continue after fire at Western Pennsylvania country club

Golf tournaments in Western Pennsylvania will proceed after a fire damaged part of the Meadville Country Club in Crawford County. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association District 10 confirmed that the clubhouse suffered a "significant fire" on Friday afternoon. A video shared by Sports Radio 103.9 shows flames and thick smoke billowing from the building.

Despite the damage, District 10's scheduled girls and boys golf tournaments will continue as planned. The girls' individual tournament is set for Monday and Wednesday, while the boys' individual tournament takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The girls team tournament is scheduled for Monday, and the boys team tournament occurs on Tuesday. Coaches are scheduled to meet at 9:15 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, with the shotgun start at 10 a.m. for both days.

Currently, the PIAA has not arranged for food to be available during the competitions. District 10 encompasses Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties.
