GoldStars’ poor start continues with home defeat to Port City

Bibiani GoldStars experienced another setback in their challenging start to the Ghana Premier League season, as they suffered a home defeat to newly promoted Port City FC, this time losing 2–0. The former champions, who had managed only one win in their first three matches, were aiming to improve their performance on home turf but once again left the game frustrated after conceding twice in the first half.

Emmanuel Ntori's goal in the 8th minute gave Port City an early advantage and increased pressure on the home team. GoldStars failed to mount a response, with Robert Gyamfi scoring another goal for Port City in the 25th minute. The two goals proved decisive for Christopher Ennin's team, who held on to secure three crucial points and maintain their unbeaten start in the top flight.

Port City now boast seven points from their first three matches, including two wins and a draw, and are currently third in the league table. GoldStars, on the other hand, find themselves in 16th place with just three points from four matches, having won only once and lost three times, just two points above the bottom-placed Dreams FC.

The former champions now face the pressure of reversing their fortunes quickly, as another disappointing result on home soil mounts.
