Gachagua: Opposition candidate will win by 75 % votes to oust Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has forecasted that a single opposition presidential candidate will win 75% of the vote in the 2027 Kenyan General Election, thereby defeating incumbent President William Ruto in the first round. Speaking to Kenyans in Dallas, Texas, Gachagua suggested that opposition leaders would eventually agree on a united candidate to challenge Ruto.

He stated, "If it is not Riggy-G, it is somebody else. We will be informed by how practical it is, how efficient it is, and how cost-effective it is." Gachagua emphasized that the opposition must carefully consider various arrangements before settling on the candidate who will face Ruto, with the aim of securing victory in the first round.

He expressed confidence in reaching an agreement, claiming to have a clear plan to remove Ruto from power. Gachagua insisted, "I want the people of Kenya to trust me that I have an idea and I know what needs to be done because it is imperative and it is a must to restore the country." He further predicted that the opposition would unite behind a single presidential candidate, likening the situation to the 2022 General Election, where opposition parties consolidated support around a particular candidate.

Gachagua stated, "One single presidential candidate will be announced. One person will go away, that one person will go away on his own and that the single presidential candidate will be elected by 75 per cent by the Kenyan vote." He added, "I can assure you that Riggy-G will be announced as part of the winning team because Riggy-G cannot walk away. He will stick with the arrangement."
