FM hails Egypt-Japan University as model of education cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty addressed the graduation ceremony of E-JUST’s 2025 and 2026 classes on September 26, 2026. He emphasized that the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) remains a cornerstone of educational cooperation between Egypt and Japan.

Abdelatty highlighted the university's role in training skilled professionals, transferring modern technology, and fortifying academic and scientific ties between the two nations. He reiterated that education is a key component of Egypt-Japan relations, citing the establishment of over 100 Japanese schools in Egypt as evidence. Abdelatty also thanked Japan for its support in educational cooperation and commended E-JUST for offering postgraduate scholarships to African students.

He congratulated the graduates, expressing confidence that their knowledge and technological skills would bolster Egypt's development. E-JUST's President, Ahmed el Sabbagh, underscored the university's efforts to equip graduates with capabilities to navigate technological advancements, artificial intelligence, and the knowledge economy.

He also mentioned ongoing developments in the university's academic and research programs, as well as the expansion of cooperation with academic and industrial institutions in Egypt and Japan. The ceremony was graced by Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Iwai Fumio, and ambassadors from Kenya and Malawi, alongside university and education officials.
