Fernandes, Gakpo, Dorgu join international break injury list

Bruno Fernandes, Cody Gakpo, and Patrick Dorgu have joined the list of injured players from the ongoing international break, according to BBC Sport. Manchester United captain Fernandes did not make Portugal's squad for their match against Norway after playing in a recent victory over Wales. Portugal manager Jorge Jesus stated that Fernandes had played through an injury he sustained while at Manchester United and was not performing at his best during the game.

Liverpool forward Gakpo was substituted after only 16 minutes of the Netherlands' 2-1 win over Serbia on Sunday, appearing to suffer a right lower leg injury. Gakpo has had a promising season, scoring two goals and providing four assists in six appearances for Liverpool across all competitions. Patrick Dorgu also suffered an injury during international duty, hobbling off after 30 minutes of Denmark's 2-0 win over Wales.

This surge of injuries during the extended three-week international break has raised concerns for clubs. Other affected players include Liverpool's Alexander Isak, Arsenal's Kai Havertz, Sunderland's Brian Brobbey, Northern Ireland's Dan Ballard, Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe, and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala.
