Evolución de esquema sin paradas: Auto-migraciones para ClickHouse.

The continuous evolution of ClickHouse schema migration is highlighted in this technical series. Managing migrations in high-speed event streams can be frustrating. WClickHouse TableSync simplifies this process by allowing updates to the Pydantic model to automatically update ClickHouse. The real problems include writing migration scripts for each new analytical metric, deployments failing due to a new property lacking a column in ClickHouse, and manual ALTER TABLE commands slowing down operations.

The solution is the implementation of from typing import Optional, using the Pydantic BaseModel, and integrating WClickHouse. The EventModel class includes an event_id, name, and an optional experiment_tag field. WClickHouse automatically adds the new column to the table, such as the experiment_tag (Nullable(String)) to the eventmodel table.

The advantages of this architecture include Motor TableSync comparing Pydantic fields with the real ClickHouse schema, auto-detection and addition of missing columns with exact types, non-destructive behavior never removing existing columns or altering previous partitions, and verification and state checks tested against live ClickHouse instances with over 95% test coverage. The framework supports Python versions 3.9 to 3.14 and utilizes Apache Arrow and Pydantic v2.
