‘CM Himanta is scared of getting exposed’: Ashutosh Ranka, CJP protesters detained in Assam

Over 30 CJP workers, including four key committee members, were detained by Assam Police in Guwahati on Sunday, according to the party. CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, who was among those detained, claimed the police were acting like "goons" throughout the day and accused them of detaining their team members. The scheduled meeting for regional volunteers, originally set for 10am at Assam Shree Parshuram Seva Sadan, was moved to Chowdhury Tila after pressure was exerted on the original venue.

Ranka, who arrived in Guwahati on Saturday, had previously stated that the venue changes would not prevent the party from holding its programme in Assam. He accused the Assam government of attempting to stop the CJP from exposing issues like the condition of schools and man-made floods. Ranka vowed that they would not be deterred, stating, "We were stopped and threatened since morning, but we are not scared. Himanta should know what we are made of."
