Chhattisgarh increases PG, dental residents’ monthly stipends from October 1

The Chhattisgarh government has announced an increase in monthly stipends for postgraduate medical and dental students enrolled in state-run colleges, effective October 1. PG medical students in their first year will see their stipend rise to Rs 85,050 from Rs 67,500, while those in the second year will receive Rs 90,027 instead of Rs 71,450.

For third-year students, the stipend has been raised from Rs 74,600 to Rs 93,996. PG dental students in their first year will now earn Rs 85,050, up from Rs 53,500, while second-year students will receive Rs 90,027, compared to the previous Rs 56,700. The third-year dental students' stipend will be Rs 93,996, up from Rs 59,200. These revisions align with a proposal from the Directorate of Medical Education and reflect a 26% increase in PG medical stipends and a 59% boost for dental residents.
