Box Office: ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ Returns to No. 1 With $26 Million, ‘Primetime’ Scores Impressive $19 Million Debut

Avengers: Endgame Encore raked in $86 million globally during its encore reissue weekend, marking a sharp 61% decline from its first-weekend earnings. The domestic total reached $26 million, just above the $25.5 million gross of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith's 20th anniversary re-release. Endgame's lifetime domestic and worldwide totals now stand at $884 million and $2.88 billion, respectively.

Sony's Resident Evil claimed second place with $23.3 million domestically, bringing its total to $103.4 million. The remaining top five entries consisted of A24's Primetime, Paramount's Heart of the Beast, and Universal/DreamWorks' Forgotten Island. Among the newcomers, Primetime had the most promising start, with a $19.1 million opening from 2,874 screens and favorable reception scores.

However, Forgotten Island struggled at the box office, opening with $12.8 million from 3,548 locations and facing an uphill battle due to its high production costs and limited overseas distribution.
