Big Ten rushing yardage leaders after Week 4

After the first month of the college football season, the Big Ten rushing title remains undecided, but UCLA running back Wayne Knight continues to dominate the rushing stats. Knight's 100-yard performance against Maryland propelled him to lead the Big Ten with 445 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns, second only to Florida's Jaden Baugh with 11 touchdowns.

Knight is tied for second place with West Virginia's Michael Hawkins Jr. Indiana's backup running back Lee Beebe Jr. has emerged as a big riser in the Big Ten rushing leaderboard after stepping in for an injured Turbo Richard against Northwestern. Beebe rushed for 203 yards, becoming Indiana's new leading rusher and climbing to fourth in the conference. The Big Ten rushing leaders after Week 4 are as follows:

6. Jamal Rule, Nebraska - 333 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns

7. Cam Edwards, Michigan State - 304 rushing yards, 3 touchdowns

8. Fame Ijeboi, Purdue - 289 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns

9. Kamari Moulton, Iowa - 284 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns

10. Bo Jackson, Ohio State - 283 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns

Following Week 4, Penn State's leading rusher is James Peoples, who transferred from Ohio State. Peoples rushed for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns against Wisconsin and averaged 5.38 yards per carry. He has surpassed Carson Hansen, a transfer from Iowa State, and seems to be gaining more rushing opportunities for the Nittany Lions.
