Bidadi police book protesters for unauthorised demonstration at Byramangala

The Bidadi police have filed charges against a group of demonstrators for organizing an unauthorized demonstration at Byramangala in protest against the Bidadi Township project. This action disrupted traffic flow and public life. A complaint was filed by Devaraj, PSI, leading to the arrest of the protesters under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiation of an investigation.

The protesters, including Girish, Chetan, Chandrashekar, Shivrudrappa, Veeresh, Puttaswamy, Bhairappa, Krishnappa, Nagaraju, Jayamma, Jayalakshmi, Shwetha, Bhagya, and Netha, among others, reportedly blocked the road by placing chairs, sitting on the carriageway, parking tractors and bullock carts, and tying cattle on the road. They also obstructed vehicle movement and encouraged others to join the protest.

The demonstration took place from September 21 to 25, causing significant inconvenience to commuters, students, employees, and goods transport vehicles. The road impacted by this blockade is part of State Highway 265 and traverses an industrial zone. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of involvement and the reasons behind the delay in addressing the protest.

The Budadi Township project remains a contentious issue for the protesters, who demanded redressal without obtaining the necessary permissions.
