Armizan hopes for more Rahmah sales allocation in 2027 Budget

Kota Kinabalu - Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali expressed hope for an increased allocation for the Madani Rahmah Sales Programme (Jualan Rahmah) in the upcoming 2027 Budget. This initiative aims to expand the program and benefit a larger number of people, addressing the ongoing cost of living concerns.

Armizan cited the encouraging response from the public and the savings they enjoy as the foundation for the government's commitment to continue and expand the program. He made these remarks during a Majlis Selawat dan Tadabbur Syukbah organized by the Papar Parliamentary Women's Wing at the Papar District Mosque, attended by around 1,500 people.

With the allocation established since the 2024 Budget, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has set annual and monthly implementation targets, and expanded public access to Rahmah Sales. Since January 2023 to September 23, 2026, the program recorded 81,455,623 transactions, with yearly increases. In 2023, there were 9,244,504 transactions, rising to 12,826,708 in 2024.

By increasing the allocation to the ministry, public participation in Jualan Rahmah surged to 27,534,770 transactions in 2025, and further increased to 31,849,641 transactions up to September 23, 2026. The program was initially piloted as a government-led discount sales program under the Payung RAHMAH agenda in 2023, then strengthened into PJRM in 2024, becoming a permanent government initiative with a dedicated allocation.

Armizan also highlighted the improved public access to information about Rahmah Sales events, through the PJRM website and the Info Jualan Rahmah Madani app available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Additionally, starting October 1, the ministry will introduce special stickers displaying the Rahmah Sales schedule QR code at various public spots nationwide, allowing the public to easily find event dates and locations near their areas.
