APCC to protest today in Vijayawada over ‘irregularities’ in electoral rolls

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) plans to stage a protest in Vijayawada on Monday at 10:30 a.m. to voice their opposition to alleged irregularities in electoral rolls nationwide. Y.S. Sharmila, the APCC president, called for this demonstration in solidarity with nationwide protests organized by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and as instructed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Kolanukonda Shivaji, the APCC vice-president and Administration In-charge, highlighted the party's concerns over the purported deletion of 13 crore voters from electoral rolls and the issuance of notices to 3-4 crore voters for insufficient identity documentation. The protesters aim to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and seek criminal charges against him, including his arrest.
