Adamawa Hosts Northeast Youth in Crisis Conference

Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta emphasized the state government's dedication to fostering resilient and sustainable communities through youth empowerment and capacity building. He made this statement at the fourth Northeast Youth in Crisis Conference (NYICC) held in Yola, organized by the Centre for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) in partnership with the Adamawa State Government, ActionAid, and other stakeholders.

The conference, themed "Beyond 2026: Youth as Partners in Localizing Humanitarian Action and Building Resilient Communities in Nigeria," aimed to highlight the crucial role of young people in humanitarian response and community development.

Professor Farauta expressed his appreciation for the contributions of young people to humanitarian efforts, especially their role as first responders during crises. He assured participants of the continued support from the Adamawa State Government for programs aimed at equipping young people with essential skills, opportunities, and capacity to realize their potential and positively impact community development.

The Deputy Governor encouraged young people to harness creativity, innovation, hard work, and commitment as key tools for building sustainable livelihoods and stronger communities. He also urged young people and residents to support local businesses, asserting that patronizing locally owned enterprises would strengthen local economies, generate job opportunities, and contribute to a more productive and sustainable society.
