Aaron Glenn’s Jets defense falters late against his former team and boss in 31-24 loss to Lions

Aaron Glenn, now the head coach of the Jets, faced his former team and boss, the Detroit Lions, in a 31-24 defeat on Sunday. As the Lions' defensive coordinator from 2021 to 2024, Glenn didn't have to devise strategies to stop Detroit's formidable offense. However, in the second half of the game, the Jets struggled to contain Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and their star receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

A 49-yard touchdown pass from Goff to Gibbs and a 11-yard reception from St. Brown put Detroit ahead to stay. Despite the Jets' strong start and impressive defense that held Tennessee to 10 points, they failed to execute key plays in the second half, allowing the Lions to drive for the winning touchdown in just four plays. Glenn acknowledged that his former boss gave his team a tough challenge and praised their hard work and identity as a team.
